NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. March 6 -- Emergent Information Technologies Inc. said that it has developed an automated solution for a laser diode manufacturer that cut fiber optic assembly times by 89 percent using National Instruments' LabView software and hardware.
"Our customer gave us three weeks to develop a solution," said Scot Blackford, a senior applications engineer and project manager at Emergent. "Using NI LabVIEW, we had an operable prototype in less than two weeks. Our solution is simple, robust, and cost-effective."
Emergent developed this virtual automated data acquisition system within two weeks that reduced fiber pigtail assembly times from 90 minutes to 10 minutes.
