Bruker Corp.’s high-field nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and time-of-flight mass spectrometry (TOF-MS) instruments were selected for the National Polytechnic Institute’s new Center for Nanoscience and Micro-Nanotechnology in Mexico City. The spectrometers will be used to promote nanoscience research in Mexico for the eventual transfer of technical developments to private and public sectors there and internationally. Based in Billerica, Mass., Bruker supplies scientific instruments for molecular and materials research, and for industrial and applied analysis.

An SI prefix meaning one billionth (10-9). Nano can also be used to indicate the study of atoms, molecules and other structures and particles on the nanometer scale.
