QD Laser Wins IEEE Photonics Society Award
KANAGAWA, Japan, July 7, 2014 — Quantum-dot laser developers Kenichi Nishi, Mitsuru Sugawara and Keizo Takemasa of QD Laser Inc. are the winners of this year’s Aron Kressel Award from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Photonics Society.
The team worked on temperature-insensitive quantum-dot lasers that have been commercialized and mass produced as light sources for optical communications systems.
The award will be presented at the IEEE Photonics Conference in San Diego Oct. 13.
