ORLANDO, Fla., Dec. 25 -- SurgiLight Inc., a developer of UV lasers and IR technologies, has agreed to manufacture the EX-308 excimer laser for A & A Medical Inc. The EX-308 recently received the approval of the US Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of psoriasis, a disfiguring skin disorder that The National Psoriasis Foundation estimates is suffered by more than 6 million Americans.
About 260,000 people come down with the incurable skin disorder each year, the foundation said, but UV laser energy produced by A & A Medical's excimer laser has provided promising clinical results. A & A Medical is a vertically integrated medical device manufacturer that also owns Medicomp, a medical component OEM supplier.
