Telops Awarded MUT Contract

Telops announced that it was awarded a $1.8 million contract from the Military University of Technology (MUT) for the initial delivery and further customization of two Hyper-Cams, the company’s hyperspectral imaging technology.

The company said that the agreement with Wojskowa Akademia Techniczna (MUT) reinforces its position as a leading supplier in the hyperspectral imaging systems market.

“We are honored to collaborate with such a prestigious European university,” said Paul Chabot, vice president of sales and marketing at Telops. “Our unique imaging technology will support MUT’s efforts to bring science to a higher level and enable new applications in military optical sensing.”

Its Hyper-Cam will be used by the Institute of Opto-Electronics (IOE) of MUT to support research and education in optoelectronics. The IOE is engaged in research and development in the field of optical, electrical and mechanical processes, components and systems. Its optoelectronics research projects range from basic research to development prototypes ready for applications.

Telops designs and produces optoelectronic systems for the military, environmental and civil security markets.

Based in Warsaw, Poland, MUT is a modern science and research technical university. It provides highly qualified personnel for the Polish Armed Forces, as well as for national security and industry.

Glossary
hyperspectral imaging
Hyperspectral imaging is an advanced imaging technique that captures and processes information from across the electromagnetic spectrum. Unlike traditional imaging systems that record only a few spectral bands (such as red, green, and blue in visible light), hyperspectral imaging collects data in numerous contiguous bands, covering a wide range of wavelengths. This extended spectral coverage enables detailed analysis and characterization of materials based on their spectral signatures. Key...
optoelectronics
Optoelectronics is a branch of electronics that focuses on the study and application of devices and systems that use light and its interactions with different materials. The term "optoelectronics" is a combination of "optics" and "electronics," reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of this field. Optoelectronic devices convert electrical signals into optical signals or vice versa, making them crucial in various technologies. Some key components and applications of optoelectronics include: ...
