AMS Technologies Acquires Azpect Photonics
AMS Technologies AG will acquire Sweden-based Azpect Photonics AB, creating the largest pan-European provider of products for optical, power and thermal management technologies, AMS said this week. Specific terms were not disclosed.

Founded in 1994, Azpect Photonics is the largest supplier of photonics equipment such as lasers, optics, spectroscopy products and OEM components to the Nordic market. Based outside Munich, AMS Technologies provides optical, power and thermal management products to the renewable energy, medical, defense & aerospace, telecom & datacom, research & scientific markets, and various other industrial segments.

The original founders and the local Nordic sales, application engineering and service employees will continue to serve the combined customer base, AMS said. An additional engineer with a PhD will also be hired.
