Picometrix Receives $6M Telecom Commitment
Picometrix LLC has secured a $5.9 million commitment for 2013 from an undisclosed telecom network equipment customer.
The Advanced Photonix company will receive approximately $5.2 million for its 100G family of coherent receivers for DP-QPSK (dual-polarization quadrature phase shift keying) modulation and $760,000 for its 40G receivers for DPSK (differential phase shift keying) modulation. Both are used in long-haul dense wavelength division multiplexing systems.
The optical receivers, which will help address the need for expanded bandwidth capacity, use patented photodiode arrays, an optical photonic integrated circuit and high-speed linear amplifiers to support data rates up to 128 Gb/s.
Shipments will commence in the fourth quarter of 2013.
