Newport Corp. has expanded its Edge Grip mount series with the M1-1D mount for D-shaped mirrors.
The mount can also be used to hold other types of optics, including lens arrays, gratings or beam samplers. The design accommodates up to 1-in. (25.4-mm) round or square optics ranging from 0.079 in. (2 mm) to 0.32 in. (8.1 mm) thick. Two precision 100-TPI adjustment screws provide high-resolution tilt adjustment up to ±4°.
A patent-pending mechanism grips the optic’s bottom edge so that the top and sides are completely unobscured.
