Trioptics Expands US Business

Jul 2010WEDEL, Germany, July 12, 2010 — Optical test equipment manufacturer Trioptics GmbH announced it has founded a subsidiary in the US — Trioptics Inc. — and has acquired Davidson Optronics Inc. of West Covina, Calif., strengthening its market presence in the US.
The newly formed company will sell Trioptics’ products and will provide applications support and service in the US. It will be located at the Davidson Optronics headquarters.
The company’s previous distributor, Mildex Inc., will continue to sell its products in the northeastern part of the US, while Davidson Optronics will continue to operate as a stand-alone company.
A joint development venture between Davidson Optronics and Trioptics for high-precision electronic autocollimators has already begun. In addition, Davidson Optronics’ products will now be distributed by Trioptics’ subsidiaries and partners throughout Europe and Asia.
To oversee the transition and cooperation between the new subsidiary and Davidson Optronics, Trioptics has appointed Ron Hartmayer as the CEO of both companies.
