DSI Names Newell as Sales Director

Nov 2012SANTA ROSA, Calif., Nov. 14, 2012 — Optics veteran Michael P. Newell has joined Deposition Sciences Inc. as director of marketing and sales.
He will be responsible for developing DSI’s coating products family and expanding its position in the industry, said President and CEO Lee Bartolomei.
Before joining the optical thin-film-coatings company, Newell was executive director of the Sonoma Mountain Business Cluster for five years and of its incubation partner, North Bay iHub, for two years. He also previously was business development manager for JDSU and held management positions at Optics 1, Avimo Electro-Optics (which was acquired by Thales) and Advanced Digital Optics.
Newell holds a doctorate in physics and has 13 patents.
