Diffuse Reflection Material in Gray Grades

Photonics.com
Jul 2012
NEWBURYPORT, Mass., July 11, 2012 — White optically diffuse reflecting material is useful in many lighting design, laser and reflection/transmission applications, including integrating sphere coating, laser cavities and reflectance standards.

Besides exhibiting a nearly perfect diffuse reflectance of >98% from 400 to 1600 nm and >95% from 250 to 2000 nm, Gigahertz-Optik Inc.’s white ODM98 features uniform reflectance across the UV to the NIR spectral range and, over a large area, operating temperatures up to 200 °C (300 °C short exposures), long-term UV stability and high maximum permissible radiation flux densities. It can be cleaned and resurfaced.

The company now offers its new ODMP material in various grades of gray. It is made from ODM98, but the material is doped with various density black pigments. Gray-scale material at different reflectance levels is required in many calibration tasks, such as qualifying the linearity of optical sensors.

Raw material in plate and block form as well as machined reflectance plates and reflectance standards with protective housings are available. Gray-scale ODM with reflectance values of 2%, 20%, 50% and 70% are stocked, and others are available upon request.
