Allied Vision Acquires VDS Vosskühler

Feb 2011AHRENSBURG, Germany, Feb. 2, 2011 — Digital industrial camera provider Allied Vision Technologies GmbH has acquired camera manufacturer VDS Vosskühler of Osnabrück, Germany.

The acquisition increases AVT’s portfolio with the addition of near-infrared (NIR) and longwave infrared (LWIR) camera technologies, as well as active camera cooling.

Incorporated in 1985, VDS specializes in the market segment outside of the visible light in the NIR and LWIR/thermography spectrum. It also develops CCD cameras for visible light, focusing on customer-specific variations for OEMs.

Jürgen Vosskühler, founder and owner of the company, will hand over the position of CEO to Frank Grube, CEO of AVT. He will continue to support and advise the company, especially during the integration phase, the companies said.
