TE-Cooled MPPC
The S11028 series are photon counting detectors that integrate a 1 x 1 mm MPPC (multi-pixel photon counter) and a 2-stage thermoelectric cooler. When the MPPC is cooled down to -10 deg. Celsius, the dark count is much reduced. The S11028 series also contains a thermistor for temperature monitoring, allowing stable measurement over long periods of time.
The S11028 detectors feature a spectral response from 320 nm to 900 nm, making them suitable for low-light detection in the UV and visible regions. In addition, the detectors are fast, with 200-300 ps FWHM time resolution. Three configurations are available. The S11028-025 has 1600 pixels each measuring 25 x 25 µm. The S11028-050 has 400 pixels with 50 x 50 µm pixel size. The S11028-100 has 100 pixels measuring 100 x 100 µm each. The S11028 are packaged in a TO-8 metal can.
