Very small fiber collimators from blues to NIR wavelengths are now available from Micro Laser Systems Inc., for the shrinking requirements of many biomedical and sensing applications. These collimators have a 2.4-mm outer diameter and generate a 0.6-mm collimated beam from singlemode fiber with low beam divergence. The slightly larger 7.1-mm outer diameter small collimator generates a 2-mm diameter beam.

Polarizers, focusing optics and other specialty optics can be added to the collimator. Diode lasers are also available for these collimators.
