For coarse wavelength division multiplexing and fiber sensing applications,
Amonics Ltd. has released a benchtop superwideband source based on high-power broadband superluminescent diodes. Operating over the 1270- to 1620-nm wavelength range, it offers continuous-wave output, a minimum spectral density of −30 dBm/nm, long-term power stability of ±0.02 dB over 8 h, and short-term power stability of ±0.005 dB over 10 min. Operating temperature range is 0 to 40 °C. The device measures 250 × 300 × 100 mm and operates from an 80- to 230-VAC supply at 43 to 63 Hz.
