National Instruments has released NI Vision Builder for Automated Inspection Version 3.0, an upgrade to the company’s interactive software for configuring, benchmarking and deploying complete machine vision applications without programming. It has a state-machine process model for added flexibility, enabling engineers to customize the flow of their inspections with conditional branches or iterative loops for component alignment, part inspection and verification. The release includes new algorithms for golden template comparison, optical character verification and data matrix grading. Images can be acquired from Camera Link, IEEE-1394 and GigE Vision cameras, and inspections developed with the software can run on any PC, on the company’s Compact Vision System or on the Sony Smart Camera.
