Introduced by FEI Co., the Phenom microscope operates via an intuitive and interactive touch screen and produces magnifications of between 20× and 20,000× at 30-nm resolution. It is suitable for use in quality assurance, product development and research applications. Image resolution options are 456 × 456, 684 × 684, 1024 × 1024 and 2048 × 2048 pixels. The desktop system has a USB 2.0 flash drive and operates in light- and electron-optical imaging modes, with sample loading times of <5 s for the former and <30 s for the latter.
