IRVINE, Calif., Oct. 16, 2009 – The CS9501 from Toshiba Teli America Inc. is an ultracompact 1/6-in. CCD color camera head that measures 7mm in diameter and weighs 3 g.
About the size of a pen cap, the camera head with its integrated 3-m cable connects to an included camera control unit to fit into confined spaces or to be integrated into a moving part, such as on the end of a robotic arm. Its compact dimensions and high resolution make it suitable for applications including machine vision, robotics, surface mounting and inspection, semiconductors and scientific imaging.
The camera captures 470 × 350 TV-lines horizontal resolution (768 × 494 pixels NTSC or 752 × 582 pixels PAL) full frame images. Automatic light control and automatic white balance assure optimum image quality against variations in intensity and color temperatures. Video output is available for VBS and Y/C (S terminal).
Pixel size is 3.20 × 3.73 µm, scanning area is 2.46 × 1.84 mm, sensitivity is 3000 lx, and minimum illumination is 12 lx. Signal-to-noise ratio is 46 dB, aspect ratio is 4:3, and the power source is 12 VDC ±10%.
