Low-Voltage Analog Switches
For Switching Audio and Data Lines in Portable Consumer Applications
Manufacturer: Alpha & Omega Semiconductor
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Oct. 21, 2009 – Alpha & Omega Semiconductor Inc. has announced the release of eight low-voltage analog switches that have an operating voltage range from 1.65 to 4.3 V and are available in several single and dual configurations. They are optimized for switching audio and data input/output lines in portable consumer applications.

The AOZ62xx family of dual analog switches offers low on-resistance and on-resistance flatness. The AOZ6232 is rated at 0.25 Ω at 2.7 V with 0.15 Ω flatness, resulting in low insertion loss and low total harmonic distortion, which preserves overall signal integrity and enables seamless multiplexing of various audio and data sources. The six AOZ62xx products are housed in small footprint quad flat nonleaded packages, making them optimal for portable battery-operated applications.

The AOZ61xx single analog switches are suitable for general purpose data switching applications. The AOZ6135 is housed in an industry standard SC70 package and features on-resistance of 0.6 Ω at 4.5 V. The AOZ6115 is housed in the SOT23-5L package and features a low capacitance of 18 pF and a low charge injection of 1 pC (Vcc = 2.7 to 3.6 V). These ratings allow for decreased signal distortion, making the AOZ6115 suitable for in-line data switching in high-speed applications.

The analog switches provide a seamless solution for the switching and multiplexing of different input streams with multiple external touch points, such as between a speaker and a headset for audio, or such as connecting an external USB signal to the data input/output lines.
