Princeton Instruments LightField 5.0Princeton Instruments Inc. has released an update of its imaging and spectroscopy software.

LightField 5.0 incorporates an all-new ‘math engine’ for analyzing 64-bit data in real time, applying simple math functions, and performing complex operations such as fast Fourier transform (FFT) with either live or post-acquisition data.

It also features an improved search function that directs users to the controls they want as they are typing, an interactive virtual optical bench to conveniently manage multiple experiment setups and automatic export of data in a variety of formats.

The software allows direct data acquisition into LabView and MatLab. It supports all of the latest Princeton Instruments hardware, including IntelliCal spectral-calibration light sources. For time-resolved imaging and spectroscopy applications, the software provides users with an intuitive, oscilloscope-like timing interface to PI-MAX 4 ICCD cameras for easy synchronization and gating controls.

Designed for academic and industrial research and development settings, applications include spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, fluorescence, photoluminescence, combustion, quantum imaging, astronomy and x-ray imaging.
