The DMI6000 B inverted microscope with Adaptive Focus Control (AFC) for multidimensional imaging is available from Leica Microsystems GmbH. The fully automated AFC is based on the reflection of a light beam at a suitable surface to maintain a constant distance between the objective and the specimen. The microscope can be operated in a stand-alone mode requiring no PC connection or external control devices. It is available for both confocal and wide-field applications, including total internal reflection fluorescence. The AFC technology is available for other Leica models as well.
