Hamamatsu Corp. has launched a preamplifier module designed to decrease noise and increase gain of photomultiplier tubes (PMTs) used for detecting light at extremely low levels. The C7319 has three switchable current-to-voltage conversion ratios and two switchable 3-dB bandwidths for use with a variety of PMTs. The device operates on ±5 to ±15 VDC and handles up to 13 µA input at a 106 conversion ratio.
