The NorCom 2020 optical leak testing system integrates a laser interferometer and advanced software. Available from NorCom Systems Inc., it measures leaks in standard helium-permeation format and can be used with pigtailed packages and PC-board-mounted devices. Setup and calibration are automated, and tests can be conducted in near real time over the local area network. It tests gross and fine leaks simultaneously and automatically compensates for variations in package lid thickness. The company says the NorCom 2020 provides one-step inspection, high throughput and reduced product failures from inaccurate test results.
