Optech Inc. announces its upgraded ILRIS-3D intelligent laser ranging and imaging system, which offers improvements such as an integrated six-megapixel digital camera and automated true-color point clouds. A handle on the unit enables operators to mount a GPS antenna, external digital camera or spectral imaging systems. The scanner automatically uses the data provided by the external sensors to enhance the quality of the point cloud. The system has a dynamic scanning range of 3 m to more than 1000 m, a minimum scan step size of 0.00115°, and a Class 1 laser eye-safety designation in all operating conditions.
