SOLAR CELL MATERIALS

Braggone Ltd. has introduced molecularly tailored materials that increase the efficiency of solar cells. To tune the optics of the cell, the antireflection and hydrogenation optical and electrical layers are introduced via a spray coat, bake and repeat process, rather than by the traditional and more expensive chemical vapor deposition process. The materials are spray-coated onto the cell or glass and cured at high temperatures. The process captures as much light as possible in the cells, reducing optical loss and improving the efficiency of electrical conversion within the cell or module. The materials also can be used in thin-film photovoltaics and in solar module manufacturing.
