Konica Minolta Sensing Americas Inc. has partnered with B&W Tek Inc. to introduce a lower-cost option for LED characterization. Spectra-Rad, a thermoelectric cooled miniature mid-range spectral irradiance meter, is designed for industrial and laboratory light-measurement applications. Equipped with a USB 2.0 interface and a right-angle, fiber optically coupled cosine corrector, it is irradiance-calibrated against a NIST-traceable tungsten light source. Besides lamp and LED characterization, it is suitable for color analysis, photostability testing, photobiology and photochemistry, low-light-level detection and long-term monitoring. The device offers long-term stability and high dynamic range.
