Reflectance data for Acktar Ltd.’s black-light-absorbing coatings has been incorporated into the libraries of optics simulation software packages Zemax and TracePro. The programs are designed to reduce the negative effects of stray light from bright objects outside the field of view and from thermal emission within the system itself, including deterioration of image quality and reduced sensitivity.

The coatings offer reflectance of <1% from the extreme-UV through the long-wave IR and feature properties such as zero outgassing, no particulation, zero fluorescence, operational temperature from 4K to 625K, biocompatibility and thickness of less than 10 µm.

The coatings can be deposited on glass polymers, ceramics and metals, making them suitable for applications from space hardware to DMD (digital micromirror device) projectors, laser beam dumps, automotive camera systems and medical applications.
