Sierra-Olympic Technologies Inc. has announced the QI-SCD15-M1 visible shortwave-infrared (SWIR) video camera from Quantum Imaging Ltd., able to operate in conventional SWIR imaging mode or asynchronous laser pulse detection (ALPD) mode.

The low-power SWIR visual graphics array camera features high sensitivity and antiblooming with a 15 × 15-µm pixel size. It is compatible with smaller, less expensive optics and supports C-mount or M42-mount SWIR lenses.

When the detector is in ALPD mode, the device serves as a 2D sensor capable of capturing short duration laser pulses and providing their XY positions in both day and night operation. Multiple asynchronous spots can exist simultaneously in the same field of view, allowing the camera to be used for see-spot operations when detecting 860-, 1064- and 1550-nm laser spots.
