Finisar has released a new optical processor and spectrum analyzer of communications applications.
The WaveShaper 16000S optical processor features reprogrammable M × N port configuration.
In addition to the standard 4 × 16 configuration, this instrument now supports 1 × 19, 8 × 12 and 10 × 10 port configurations. User-defined filter functions with arbitrary shape in amplitude and phase can still be applied between any input and output port. This flexible port allocation is of particular importance to research on software-defined networks (SDN).
The WaveAnalyzer 1500S adds enhanced signal analysis capability for R&D applications.
It performs optical signal-to-noise ratio measurements in real time with update rates up to 10 Hz. Its six-point measurement technique enables OSNR measurements on densely spaced channels with 150 MHz spectral resolution.
