For industrial vision applications requiring 1- to 2- megapixel resolutions at frame rates of up to 120 fps, Baumer Ltd. has introduced the SX cameras that feature Kodak’s progressive-scan interline CCD image sensors with Quad-Tap technology.
Offering resolution of 1024 × 1024 pixels, the 1-megapixel cameras achieve speeds of 120 fps, depending upon the number of output taps used. The 2-megapixel cameras offer horizontal and vertical resolutions of 1600 × 1200 pixels and operate at speeds of up to 68 fps. All models are compact, measuring 52 × 52 × 54 mm, and feature a rugged housing and robust electronics that withstand a variety of application environments. All have a 5.5 × 5.5-µm pixel size.
The digital interface is Camera Link Base. This industrial interface transmits data at a rate of 255 MB/s with little latency time. To simplify the integration of these cameras into existing operating software, Baumer provides a modern software development kit containing Baumer-GAPI (a generic application programming interface), many code examples and programming documentation.
Applications for the monochrome and color cameras include measuring technology, medical technology and semiconductor inspection.
