Objective PositionerPiezosystem Jena GmbH has extended its MIPOS objective positioner series with two new products, MIPOS 140 and MIPOS 250 SG.

The MIPOS 140 keeps a constant optical axis, with the optical system's position remaining unchanged after installation with the desired adjusted focal point position. Precision positioning accuracy is offered for lenses with weights of up to 500 g. With an open-loop travel range of 100 μm and closed-loop range of 140 μm, the device reaches a resolution in the submicron range. Applications include wafer inspection machines and optical benches.

The MIPOS 250 SG has a travel range of 250 μm in open-loop operation and 200 μm in closed-loop operation. An extremely flat design allows the device to be screwed to a flat surface for an optical bench or machine track. High parallelism makes the positioner suitable for test, measurement and semiconductor applications. Adapters are available for all standard microscope threads. A parallelogram principle guarantees parallel motion without mechanical play or effect on the optical access.
