TRANSCEIVER EVALUATION
II-VI Finisar
Finisar Corp. has unveiled an evaluation system for 10-Gb/s optical transceiver modules. The FXES-1030 is a stand-alone unit with bit-error-rate testing functionality and a standard 300-pin, XML-based interface. It transmits a pseudorandom bit-sequence function through the transceiver and compares it with the looped-back received signal. The system measures and reports the bit- error rate via a test application software tool that runs on a Windows NT/2000 host computer, and it includes a graphical user interface.
