A dark-current PIN photodiode is integrated with a 600-M(omega) transimpedance amplifier and is sealed in an airtight TO-5 package. The device delivers low noise, low-output offset voltage, high thermal stability and low-light-level detection capability, making it more economical than other thermoelectrically cooled detectors.
