The NanoBonder laser welding system integrates motion control, machine vision, precision alignment stages and weld processing technology. Adept Technology Inc. says it improves throughput and yields by minimizing alignment and bonding cycle times. The control platform synchronizes control of the five-axis alignment stage, two four-axis laser weld head positioning mechanisms and machine vision guides for the laser positioning heads. The platform also allows communication between the laser welder and third-party instruments. The system includes an industry-standard PC.
