The MicroPen from EFD Inc. is a dispensing tool for use in fiber optic assembly processes that require precise amounts of two-part epoxies and UV-cure adhesives. It produces deposits down to 0.004 in. in diameter, without the waste associated with syringes. A disposable 0.25-cc reservoir tip enables adhesives to be mixed in small batches and to be used before pot life expires. The tip attaches to a lightweight aluminum handle, is available with 30-, 32- or 33-gauge dispensing needles and will block UV wavelengths between 280 and 390 nm.
