ILX Lightwave Corp. has announced a miniature laser diode mount for use with high-power dual-inline (DIL) packages. The mount, based on the company's LDM-4982 chassis, offers a 14-pin ZIF socket and an anodized aluminum heat sink that extends over the center of the socket. It can be used with miniature DIL packages equipped with an internal thermistor, and its electrical contacts are rated for devices operating at a drive current of up to 1 A. The mount can provide temperature control over a range from -5 to 85 °C.
