A motion control developer's kit for the PCI bus has been announced by Performance Motion Devices Inc. The kit includes a PCI motion control board with the company's single-axis Pilot or multiaxis Navigator chip set, cables, manuals and a CD-ROM with the C-Motion library and Pro-Motion graphical user interface. The motion control chip sets feature a PID filter, electronic gearing, limit switches and I/O on each axis. They can be used to evaluate and develop brushed, brushless, stepper and microstepper applications. Multiple PCI boards can be installed and synchronized to within 10 µs.
