The QualitySpec TI near-IR analyzer from Analytical Spectral Devices Inc. provides in-line quality control for the blister packaging of pharmaceutical tablets. The company says the instrument rejects foreign tablets, indicates the absence of tablets and accurately verifies the chemical composition and concentration of tablets while making no physical contact with the package or the product. GMP-compliant, it has an evaluation speed of 90 cycles per minute per head, allowing it to scan 2160 tablets per minute. Its spectrometer measures reflectance, transmittance and transflectance and has a spectral range of 350 to 2500 nm with a wavelength accuracy of ±0.8 nm.
