Exfo Electro-Optical Engineering Inc. has made available motion control software designed for use with its FR-3000 NanoRobot alignment system. The software's peak-finding routines enable the system to find first light and optimize alignment. The script-based routines can be customized using C++, LabView or Visual Basic with the alignment system's open architecture. The software includes a virtual rotation point that can be either automatically set by the system or positioned by the user as needed. Suitable for photonics applications, the system positions components with 0.1-nm resolution. The company says the FR-3000 provides higher yields for complex components as well as shorter settling times and high stability for greater assembly efficiency.
