The Chameleon tunable Ti:sapphire laser provides an average power of >1 W and femtosecond pulse tuning from 720 to 930 nm. This hands-free laser from Coherent Inc. operates via a menu-driven interface on its power supply or via an external computer. It is designed for multiphoton excitation microscopy and also is suitable for time-resolved photoluminescence, nonlinear spectroscopy, fluorescence upconversion, quantum nanochemistry, materials characterization and terahertz imaging. The laser features the Power Pulse system, in which automatic dispersion compensation and active pointing control work in unison to optimize output power and pulse width across the tuning range. The company says its MRU-1000 compact air recirculator enables tuning through atmospheric water vapor absorption lines above ~920 nm without an external purge.
