A progressive-scan CCD camera with 6.45 x 6.45-µm pixels and a Camera Link interface has been announced by Basler Vision Components. The A102k 1392 x 1040-pixel camera is available in a monochrome version and provides 14.8 fps, electronic exposure time control and selectable 8- or 10-bit output. Other features include flash/strobe trigger output, binning, smear suppression and test images. The camera can scan areas of interest and run at higher frame rates when operating at lower resolutions. The company says its CCD sensor's high signal-to-noise ratio and low smear characteristics make it suitable for applications such as intelligent traffic control systems.
