CPFilms Inc. has unveiled a line of films designed for applications that require transparency while blocking infrared radiation. The company says the films block 80% to 98% of infrared light between 800 and 1100 nm and allow 40% to 50% transmission of visible light. Widths of up to 72 in. are available on polyester, and other film substrates and laminated structures also can incorporate the IR-blocking technology. Applications include transparent transaction cards and medical uses.
