The Rofin Laser Macro Group has announced the DC 045W, a CO2 slab laser with an average output of 4500 W. This diffusion-cooled laser has a beam quality of K ≥ 0.9, which enables narrow and deep welding seams with minimum heat distortion. It requires no gas circulation, and its single transmitting lens is a diamond window. The device can be used in large-capacity remote welding systems for the production of automotive subassemblies and for welding aluminum components, gearbox and engine parts, tailored blanks, pipes and extrusions.
