Edmund Scientific Co.'s Industrial Optics Div. has developed a line of dichroic filters for color separation and contrast enhancement applications. Supplied in mounted and unmounted versions, the filters can be integrated into many camera and illumination setups. They provide wide fields of view that are not obtainable with narrow bandpass interference filters. If a light source is already colored, they can filter out unwanted ambient light. With black-and-white cameras, use of the filter results in higher resolution and contrast.
