Carl Zeiss has introduced a color measurement system designed for use with customized versions of its MCS 500 series spectrometers. The OMK 500-H online color measurement system incorporates a separate reflection-measuring head with an integrated halogen lamp for measuring diffuse reflections in the spectral range from 380 to 900 nm with high reproducibility to 780 nm at sampling times of <1 s. It is suitable for conducting online color measurements of textured samples such as textiles, paper and plastics. The system also can measure diffuse reflections of samples that pass the measuring head at varying distances.
