A new line of hybridized photodetectors from Advanced Photonix Inc. consists of a PIN photodiode and transimpedance amplifier within a hermetically sealed TO-5 package. An external feedback resistor and capacitor allow the user to set the transimpedance gain and bandwidth. A low-dark-current, photodiode coupled with a low-input bias current 28-MHz gain bandwidth amplifier enables use over a wide range of transimpedance gains and bandwidths. UV-, blue/VIS- and red-enhanced photodiodes are available. Standard detector active areas are 5.1 mm2 and 100 mm2. Other options are available to OEMs upon request.
