Applied Scintillation Technologies has unveiled a coating designed to extend and improve the UV response of photodiode linear arrays, CMOS devices and CCDs down to below 200 nm. The Spectralize II coating can be used in scientific instrumentation such as UV spectrophotometers, photometers, digital cameras and general imaging systems. Its applications include optical emission spectroscopy, space observation, environmental analysis and materials research. The company says that the coating offers high sensitivity and resolution, improves coating uniformity and signal-to-noise ratio, and provides a good alternative to AR coatings.
