National Instruments has released software for developing machine vision applications such as in-line parts inspection and quality control monitoring. Vision Builder for Automated Inspection integrates image acquisition, inspection and I/O control. The built-in I/O capabilities enable users to control serial lines and static digital I/O modules, and to interface with a range of external devices, including strobes and cameras. The software features decision-making and data-logging features, which can be used to store images and inspection data based on predefined criteria.
