Coherent Inc. has introduced its Vioflame violet lasers. Available in four models with output powers from 4 to 30 mW, the 408-nm lasers are suitable for applications such as cytometry, high-throughput screening, reprographics, confocal microscopy and disc mastering. Drive electronics options include constant current, constant power and a second closed-loop photodiode. The thermoelectrically cooled lasers feature Class 3 electrostatic discharge protection and InGaN semiconductor technology. The company says the TEC integrated package provides stable output power, beam diameter and pointing.
