Designed to meet the optical circuit protection needs of multimode fiber LAN and sensor systems, the miniature multimode fiber optic shutter from Phoenix Photonics Ltd. employs all-fiber evanescent field technology to provide optical isolation in the "off" condition, while allowing minimal impact on signal quality for the "on" state. This small-footprint shutter option is intended for datacom applications. The shutter is housed in a 20 x 3-mm package and is noninvasive to the fiber core.
